Executive MBA Programs
The executive MBA programs do cover many of the similar topics that a traditional MBA program also includes, however the prerequisites are very different. Most EMBA programs require that you have a minimum amount of professional experience to be considered for the degree program. GMATs may not be required depending on the school, but your work experience is very relevant. Traditional MBA programs usually don’t require the work experience, but you may have to take the GMAT.
Executive MBA programs can also be done in a “cohort” format, meaning that you will go through the journey of completing your EMBA degree with the same group of people. This can prove to be very helpful as you will have the ability to learn in a team environment, not to mention the ability to network once your degree has been earned.
The reason that people take the executive MBA program versus a traditional MBA program is because they are being primed for executive level management. An organization may see potential in a current employee, but they may require additional education. This is where an EMBA can prove to be a beneficial program for the employee as well as the company itself.
