MBA Financial Aid

by Henry Gunther

Considering an MBA or eMBA and need financial aid?

Both programs allow students to learn more about business in a variety of concentrations including Human Resources Management, finance, accounting, leadership, international business, and more. In fact, the eMBA program was designed specifically for those who are seeking out a leadership or executive role within a corporation or organization.

Of course, these programs don’t pay for themselves and in many cases, financial aid may be required. But does does one go about obtaining the necessary funds to cover tuition for an MBA or eMBA program?

Grants and Scholarships

There are a variety of grants and scholarships available to students who need assistance with paying for their graduate education. Grants and scholarships usually require an application of some sort, and money isn’t necessarily guaranteed.

However, once your education is complete, you won’t  have to worry about repaying these funds back to the original organization. Believe it or not, students may also be able to receive funding from the school they are going to attend. Whether it be in the form of a grant or loan would need to be determined.

Student Loans

Student loans are another option if you are in need of financial aid. The money granted to students who take out loans does need to be repaid upon graduation or even early leave of the graduate program. The interest rates are usually low, fortunately, but it can take awhile to repay depending on the amount you take out.

Tuition Reimbursement

Another option would be to seek out tuition reimbursement from your employer. Many companies do offer a reimbursement program as an encouragement to get a better education and become more of a versatile employee.

No matter which method of financial aid works best for you, you are sure to find multiple resources to help fund your graduate education. It’s also important to know that a good starting point would be to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. This will tell you how much the government is able to give you to help plan out your college financial aid situation.
